Ellie Goulding

Last Friday Ellie Goulding came to the Electric Factory, along with killing her concert she stole my heart. She started out with some slow love ballads. You know the ones where you have no idea who the boy is, but it seems like she is singing about the one that broke your heart. After she brought tears to the audience's eyes, she picked up the beat. She sang her hit "Anything Can Happen." Ellie closed the show with the chart topper "Lights."

Split Up

My favorite purchase this year has been this open back sweater. The camel sweater is a classic and a necessity for any girl; but the open back adds some unexpected sexiness to the piece. This knit is the definition of versatile. It can be thrown over a bathing suit, worn with jeans or worn over a floral dress. Wear this piece here, there, and everywhere! I decided to pair it with a printed men's button down, leggings, and a pair of vintage flats.

Concrete Jungle

If you have kept tabs on this blog, you have probably noticed Philly is one of our favorite cities. Unfortunately it is so under rated. The city of brotherly love is decked out in five star restaurants, beautiful museums, historical sites and killer shopping (pun intended). So all we're saying is turn off the news and give Philly a chance.

Crazy For Kenzo

                                                                Pictures from Pinterest
When you fall for this Kenzo sweatshirt, you fall hard. I am at the point where I am willing to sell my body for it. But it looks like we're out of luck. The sweatshirt that has made fashion bloggers go bananas remains out of stock. I still remain hopeful and am searching high and low for this edgy must have. For all you hopeful shoppers like me, keep checking ebay, you never know!

Cap Off Your Night

Capogiro is the best gelato in Philly, and according to National Geographic one of the top spots in the world. This is definitely a place worth hitting up. With unique flavors like burnt sugar, sweet potato and chocolate banana this isn't a spot where you'll get your typical vanilla ice cream cone. The motto of Capogiro is "taste no evil," i find it very fitting for the eatery, i have yet to be disappointed by.

No Trespassing

Looking back, maybe going to an abandoned warehouse wasn't the safest idea. Most of the warehouse was knocked over or burned down. But the parts that still stood strong were covered in graffiti, made by un- welcomed guests. Sometimes the best art you'll see won't be in the museum.

The Perfect Going Out Bag

Nothing ruins a night out like losing your keys, wallet or even a mere 10 dollars. The odds are you won't realize you've lost your valuables till you're lying in bed, knee deep in a hangover. But who wants to carry a big bag around all night. It will, quite literally, be dragging you down. A "going out bag" must be small; after all you should only be carrying the essentials. Also make sure your bag is cross- body, that way you won't feel like you're carrying a bag at all!

Not A Hill Billy Moment

Plot twist, overalls are back and chic-er than ever! Overalls used to be seen as either toddler wear or something hill billies wore because they were too lazy to wear pants AND a shirt. Well those days are gone. Overalls are spreading faster than the flu on the runways. Designers like Stella Mcartney and Phillip Lim have been all over these denim one pieces. Short or long, overalls are a must- have, and are great for any season!

Gimme A Slice

One of my favorite day- trip- spots is Princeton, New Jersey. The college town is filled with good shops, charming architecture and amazing eateries. Terra Momo Bread Company is the most fantastic bread shop. The aroma when you walk in the door is unlike anything else. This bread will make you swear off of wonder bread forever. The shop is right off of Main Street. It is a must for anyone who is looking for a quick snack, savory or sweet.

Of Monsters And Men

Ever listen to an Icelandic hipster band? Neither did we until a year ago. Most people have heard Of Monsters And Men's hit, Little Talks. But this band is far from a one- hit- wonder, every song on the album is catchier than the next. The band is currently touring Japan. But they make frequent stops to New York and Philadelphia, so you can sing along next time they're at a venue near you! We have a feeling this band is here to stay.

Currently Luving: Fedoras

Looking for a simple yet stylish solution to bad hair days? Look no further, the solution is a fedora.  They not only tame a mane, but they also satisfy the "what am I missing" factor. View hats as an accessory, not just as an extension of your sunglasses. Sunglasses are perfectly capable of keeping the sun out of your eyes. I'm not saying don't wear hats during the day, please do! Just don't limit yourself. Collecting fedoras is addictive, buy one and before you know it you'll find an excuse for every size, shape, and color. They are also a blast to search for in a vintage shop. I am currently on the hunt for a vintage 1970's Gucci. As Nicole Richie always says, "style is from head to toe," so top off your ensemble with a fedora.

Need A Numa Sushi Place?

                                                         images from google

Besides little holes in the wall, Ritten House Square is lacking in sushi restaurants. Of course there are some with in a mile of the park and the shops. But in sub 30 degree weather, I don't think anyone wants to make that trek. Tonight I decided to try the new and highly acclaimed sushi bar Numa. Even with my high expectations the eatery did not disappoint. There was a variety of different rolls for the adventurous, but also the basics for the not- so- daring. In addition to the maki, the restaurant offered skewers and dumplings. I recommend the house avocado salad followed by a spicy tuna roll. If you are a little more daring when it comes to sushi, I recommend the tropicana roll; it's shrimp asparagus and mango, an odd sum of flavors, but undoubtedly delicious.

Lookin' Sharp

Even though Greece almost tops the list of my least favorite movies, one of their style signatures is a  staple in my closet. I am currently looking for any excuse to break out my spiked leather jacket. It goes great with a chunky knit and leggings; but ironically, it makes even the most feminine of dresses look even more girly. If you're looking for a new edgy jacket, may I suggest this sharp looking jacket.

Protect Your Cargo

Considering it's the year 2013, it's safe to say anybody who's anybody has an iPhone. We all know what keeps Apple in business is the iPhone's screen that conveniently cracks every 6 months. Apple was outsmarted with the Otter Box case. Unfortunately with the Otter Box you not only have to sacrifice the sleek look of the iPhone but also a clear call. Danijo, a fabulous jewelry company based in New York, has come out with a series of iPhone cases that come in stylish prints that also protect your phone from a little tough love from time to time.
